A convenience store chain that is located mostly in North East has just announced they will accept cryptocurrency for payments.
In an announcement made earlier in the week Sheetz announced that they are now accepting cryptocurrency payments after they formed a relationship with Flexa a digital payment provider that specializes in digital payments.
Sheetz says that Bitcoin, Doge coin, Ether, Lite coin, and a handful of others cryptocurrencies will be able to purchase gas and store items.
As of right now there are over 600 Sheetz in the United States, so this is no small deal but rather a look into the future of cryptocurrency being used practically in every day life.

Cointelgraph had more on the story:
Retail crypto payment acceptance in the United States continues to grow as Sheetz announces plans to allow the use of digital currencies in its outlets across the country.
In a release issued on Thursday, the convenience store chain announced its partnership with digital payments provider Flexa to enable customers to pay for products and services with cryptocurrencies.
As part of the announcement, Sheetz revealed that the crypto payment option was for both in-store items and gas pumps at their over 600 outlets across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia.
Cryptocurrencies that will be accepted by the convenience store chain include Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE), among others.
The company’s crypto payment adoption move is also an extension of its business relationship with point-of-sale payment provider NCR.

Pittsburgh Action 4 News reported the story too:
The digital currency payments will be accepted using Flexa technology at select stores starting this summer, Sheetz said Friday.
Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and dogecoin are among the currencies that customers will be able to use for payments, Sheetz said.
Plans call for the rollout to continue at gas pumps later this year, the company said.
As cryptocurrency continues to be trendy expect more gas stations to follow in Sheetz footsteps.
