Dogecoin continues to make the headlines.
Even long after the meteoric rise of the meme coin, Doge continues to find itself being accepted at more places, and presenting some refreshing use cases.
The latest place to accept Doge is AMC theaters, where eager movie-goers will be able to pay for their tickets and concessions using the popular cryptocurrency via gift card redemptions.
The irony of AMC accepting Dogecoin shouldn’t be lost on any Reddit user, meme investor, or crypto enthusiast!

AMC CEO Adam Aron tweeted that the company would be accepting Dogecoin as payment for gift cards.
While it’s not exactly the same as buying movie tickets with crypto, the end result is the same. AMC gift cards can be used to buy movie tickets along with online concessions.
The company had previously announced its plans to expand crypto offerings to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash before the end of 2021.

AMC Entertainment has already expressed its intention to accept four other cryptocurrency assets: Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) by the end of 2021.
According to the data from October 2020, the institution has 620 theaters across the United States and a further 358 theatres across Europe.
