The U.S. Is No Longer #1 In Terms Of Bitcoin Nodes

The United States once reigned supreme in terms of Bitcoin nodes.

Even with fierce competition from China, The United States still had the most operational Bitcoin nodes in the world.

Due to The Chinese Communist Party crackdown on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies though, China has since fallen to the last place on the top 10 list……

So who has grabbed the top spot?

According to sources, Germany is now the country with the most operational Bitcoin nodes in the world, beating out The U.S. by a narrow margin of just 12 nodes at the time of this writing.

Here are the details:

Trust Nodes points out:

Germany was close to overtaking USA in 2019, but back then America was running 2,400 nodes while Germany was at 1,900.

That was still notable however because Germany’s population is some four times lower than USA’s, while its economy is some five times smaller, yet it has managed to overtake USA.

Crypto Briefing reported this as early as 2019:

Data collected by cryptocurrency statistics site Bitnodes found that Germany accounts for just under a fifth of all reachable BTC nodes. Out of a total 10,164 nodes scattered all across the world at press time, 1933 were in Germany – around 19%.

That puts it second to the United States, which had the highest concentration. The US has 2495 working nodes – 24.5% of the total. France is a distant third, with only 675 nodes operating.
